In these unprecedented times (man, I can’t wait to live in PRECEDENTED TIMES again), Whole Foods delivery has become a staple of our life for acquiring food… staples. Here’s my experience.
I prefer to order from the full website rather than the mobile version. (I haven’t tried the app experience.) On the full site, it’s very easy to set the department filter to Whole Foods and start searching for products without getting Fresh or other shipping options. As I’m receiving from the Paramus location, my products may vary from yours.
Unlike other grocery delivery systems I use, the Past Orders feature here is basically just a copy of the receipt. It’d be nice if you could look at a previous order and pick products from there, but that’s not a thing. But again, the searching is fairly easy.
It seems that nearly all 365 bread products are vegan these days. We’re particularly fond of the English Muffins and Raisin Bread. And of course, the fresh croissants are AMAZING. As far as I can tell, you can get all products at the store delivered. I’m setting us up with a Beyond Burger night! Looking forward to that!
Generally, I’d say it’s a good experience. The only problem I have is with the substitutions. First, you can’t globally declare “no substitutions.” You have to MANUALLY SET EVERY ITEM. Which is no fun. And once you’ve done that, YOU CAN GLOBABLY TURN NO SUBSTITUTIONS OFF, which, like, bro… come on, man. After I do that, I think do a quick CTRL F to make sure I set everything properly because I just don’t trust it and I have had an experience where we got items substituted anyway.

Any they substituted a non-vegan item.

Such is life. I called the number they provide for just such instances, spoke to a very nice young lady and she set me right. No fuss, no muss, very fast. It’s essentially a refund or replace choice. They sent out the correct items within just a few hours but didn’t take back the other items. I imagine that in these unprecedented times-

-taking back items probably has all sorts of complications, but I was able to pawn them off easily on non-vegan family. And I should mention that this has only happened once… well, maybe another time I ordered white English muffins and got whole wheat instead, but at least they’re all vegan.
So there it is. Whole Foods Grocery delivery? I have to recommend it. I should mention I’m doing this as a Prime Customer-
which has its own benefits and sales. What I’m saying is, your mileage may vary. But on the whole (whoooooooooooaaaaaaa see what I did there?), I’m fer it.

PSH. Grandpa’s probably not vegan.
so it turns out, You don’t have to MANUALLY SET EVERY ITEM. “no substitutions.” you just have to set EIGHT. after the eighth item, the set all option appears at the top of the page.
