ShopRite Paramus vegan grocery shopping 7/11/24

ShopRite in Paramus New Jersey might have the biggest selection of vegan mac and cheese I’ve come across. Let’s dive in!

This is by the olives and hummus near prepared foods and produce.

Like many grocery stores, you can find vegan cheese in three different aisles – that’s my personal record. The Esti vegan cheese is with olives. There’s more vegan cheese in the fruits and veggies department and even more vegan cheese in the dairy department. Such is life.

These are doors 23 and 24 in the produce section. Save yourself a headache and notate the doors in these pictures.

Here we are in the vegan section of fruits and veggies. I don’t quite understand how some products are here but beyond me products are with the meat, but again, SUCH IS LIFE.

Here we are on the back wall of the store where you can find the beyond meat products. I found something here today I’ve never seen before…

When I was a kid, jarred tomato sauce was, to be blunt, quite bad. Then it got way better, but now, I feel like we’ve gone back to the name brand ones being over sugared and just generally no good. However, I think I like the bowl and basket options. They’re pretty tasty and relatively affordable, particularly when compared with their name brand counterparts.

Like stop & shop in Teaneck, ShopRite Paramus has an incredible kosher section that has tons of vegan treasures to be discovered.

These are my personal favorite kosher aisle find.

Here’s some more vegan mac and cheese. If you’ll wander around the store, you just keep finding it – meaning, there’s more options in the frozen section.

We’ve actually tried these bowl and basket vegan dumplings before, I think we enjoyed the ginger slightly more than the teriyaki, but it’s been a while… I remember thinking they’re both worth trying.

Here we are at the primary vegan frozen area, also near the frozen kosher and frozen veggie section. Here’s where you’ll find all the Gardien products and the other brands like morning harvest that makes some vegan products.

Some of the vegan cream cheese can be found in the cream cheese case, which makes sense.

But there’s also vegan cream cheese with the vegan sour cream…

Not to be confused with the other vegan sour cream, which is in the vegan dairy case. Also, there’s more vegan cream cheese in this case. That’s three separate cases to find vegan cream cheese. Vegan Ricotta, same deal – one option is in the vegan case, the other is with the rest of the dairy ricotta.

By the way, ShopRite Paramus is my go to store for vegan ricotta. They carry Kite Hill and Tofutti – that’s right, there’s a choice!
