Bareburger restaurant (2021 vegan menu)

Bareburger is a hamburger chain with both vegan and non-vegan items. They have locations in Bergen county and outside of New Jersey, but I was not able to find a full list.

I was about to sing a lament for the old Bareburger menu, but that stuff doesn’t exist anymore. What’s done is done. I will say that I miss the ease of access that the old menu offered, where vegan and non vegan items were separated clearly, but everything’s just thrown together now. And you used to be old you choose between the Impossible and Beyond burgers, but they only have the Impossible now. Okay okay, what’s done is done!

I went with the forager burger pictured above. Here’s the description:

“Impossible burger, truffle frizzled onions, organic wild mushrooms, organic baby kale, smoke sauce, sprout bun”

I’m not usually a fan of sprout buns, but this was a very tasty burger. Great bordering on excellent.

The fries were fries. The plant-based chicken was, however, like the burger, great bordering on excellent. I’m not sure who the supplier of their plant-based chicken nuggets currently is, but they’re worth checking out.

As you can see from the receipt, we also built a burger, which was also satisfactory.

So on the whole, everything we had was somewhere between great and excellent. Good experiences are good thing! However, I cannot again help but go back on my word and again complain about the lack of options compared to their previous menu incarnation. You used to be able to get a hamburger with a fried vegan egg on it!

Okay okay okay, I’ll stop. We enjoyed our bareburger experience, that’s a fact – I’m just not sure how often we’ll be having them going forward. There’s just not a lot of options to choose from (even the beer options seem greatly reduced), and their locations are not particularly close us.
