I don’t know if it’s fair to say that I missed caramel – maybe it’s more accurate to say I forgot about it. Here in the United States, most caramel you come across has dairy in the recipe, so it fluttered out of consciousness some time ago. But caramel days are here again, folks: thanks to Stroop Club’s stroopwafel!
I was totally unfamiliar with the stroopwafel before this – no prior stroopwafel experience. So if you’re wondering, “Does this taste like the stroopwafel I used to eat at my grandparent’s house when I was a kid?” the answer is I HAVE NO CLUE.
But it tastes great!
Another rookie mistake – if I’d bothered to read the packaging more carefully, I’d of noticed that it says there are TWO stroopwafels, not one sandwich. Sure, I figured it out after a bite, but just FYI: they’re thin.
I’m here to say I highly recommend trying the Stroop Club’s stroopwafel. It’s a great companion for coffee or tea, or if you’re just in the mood for something sweet. You can order them directly from Stroop Club and Amazon has them, too.
